We’ve shifted from the traditional 30 year single corporate career model to a freelancer and sharing economy. Millennials stay in a job for a year before moving on. Freelancers and independent workers make up nearly half of the US workforce. The way we work has changed. The explosive growth in co-working is a testament to this shift.
The way we live is changing. We share our cars with strangers (Uber). We open up our homes to strangers (AirBnB). There are massive housing shortages particularly in expensive and high job growth markets.
Working independently creates a deficit in community and face to face collaboration. Co-working helps solve this. Co-living helps solve this. Co-live-working is the sweet spot between the two. Co-live-work housing means you do not have to have a membership to both a co-working space and look for housing – hotel, airbnb, etc. You can instantly be integrated into a community of likeminded people who share the desire for community and connection, and also add value to your ideas and projects by natural and serendipitous skill sharing.
